Can anyone confirm that iLevil (with Flarm input) works in conjunction with Skydemon on the iPad (i.e., GPS works, both Flarm and ADS-B traffic shows up)? I have an older model iLevel and am thinking of upgrading to the latest one if it plays well with Flarm and Skydemon.

Ananda, would you be able to support your claims with a demo video? I'm sure that a lot of fellow SD users would be highly interested in such a solution!

SkyDemon is already compatible with FLARM, so if the iLevil device can truly act as a WiFi hotspot just like the Air Connect device that FLARM usually use, and transmit with the FLARM protocol, then it will "just work".

This Discussion was forwarded to me by an SD and iLevil user. I want to clarify few things about the iLevil, maybe SD will reconsider integration into their App. 

- iLevil is compatible with FLARM! All our units act as a WiFi port for other hardware in the cockpit, so if you have FLARM installed, all you have to do is plug the serial output into the iLevil and it gets transmitted over WiFi. If SD has the capability to read FLARM, then you'll have traffic from both sources (ADS-B and FLARM)

- The iLevil is compatible with ADS-B in/out. Same deal with the FLARM, the user Oliver Voigt who bought the TM250, could have used an iLevil instead. The iLevil outputs GPS data to the Mode-S transponder to make it ADS-B out compatible, and receive FLARM info to be displayed on the tablet, along with the PFD and ADS-B in.

- Levil Aviation is going to AERO 2016! For the first time we will have a booth to ourselves (B2-114) and will be demoing the iLevil series at the show. This is the year for us to expand and would love to have SD on board with us.

Just like SkyDemon, Levil was a pioneer in making great technology accessible to pilots using tablets. I would love to be as popular in Europe as you want us to be. But we really depend on App developers because you are the face of all the data that we stream. I really believe our customers will benefit from us working together and shaping the next generation cockpit.

For ADS / B in and out solution I install a TM250 from f.u.n.k.e, which is connected to my Mode S Transponder. Unfortunately, this device does not have WiFi, so I must now integrate a Butterfly connect additionally that my data will be displayed in Skydemon. Difficult in this case is to get the certification and the Form1.
Ilevil I must unfortunately be displayed on a second monitor

I use ilevil 2 AW My MCR ULC ! I am very satisfied , it is a super material. But I Can NOT the ADSB on SKYDEMON and it's very frustrating. Actually, when I navigation June 1 in a region with a lot of traffic I am of the USE Forced Air Nav Pro. And I prefer USE Skydemon !!!! It's a shame is not it?
I hope the staff will integrate Skydemon Ilevil FAST.

j'utilise ilevil 2 AW dans mon MCR ulc ! je suis très satisfait, c'est un super matériel. mais je ne peux pas utiliser l'ADSB sur SKYDEMON et c'est très frustrant. Donc, quand je fais une navigation dans une région avec beaucoup de trafic je suis obligé d'utiliser Air Nav Pro. Et je préfère utiliser Skydemon !!!! C'est dommage non?!
J'espère que le staff de Skydemon va intégrer Ilevil rapidement.

I have no idea what the general consensus is but, I for one have no interest in integrating "glass panel" functionality or "synthetic vision" into SD. In my opinion (others may disagree though, and it's their right to do so), but "bell and whistles" like this have no place in VFR software. However, ADS/B In/Out for traffic awareness would be a superb enhancement, and whilst it may be some way off in the future, I'm sure that as soon as the technology is available at a reasonable price and proven, it will be integrated into SD. Something well worth waiting for I think.

We last reconsidered it two days ago, so let's give it some time. The iLevil is not yet a popular European device. It does not offer a great solution to the traffic problem as it only does ADS/B in (not out) and supports no Flarm interoperability.

As you can see, it's popularity is growing.
Could you please reconsider the plans of integrating Ilevil into the software?
Ilevil exports data into GDL90, NMEA and ForeFlightSim formats, and should be easy to integrate, being similar with Flarm.

We do not have any current plans to integrate with iLevil, but that may change in the future if and when it becomes more popular in Europe.
